This bakery will serve the community around it with wood-fired artisan bread, epic food, and the best coffee and tea available.
Grains of Grace a bakery model that seeks to serve the Girls of Grace care in New Delhi India, and to provide them with an alternative to the life that awaits them as they grow up and leave the safety of the orphanage they call home. The vision was to open a Bakery that would give these girls an opportunity to learn the skill set of making bread and then equip them to open their bakeries in India.
That vision has now grown and come to fruition with our location in Clarkesville GA. This bakery will serve the community around it with wood-fired artisan bread, epic food, and the best coffee and tea available. We are using locally milled flour in all of our bread (among other local ingredients), and bringing employment opportunities to local workers. We will be partnering with local soup kitchens and nonprofits by donating unsold products so that none of it goes to waste. A model that will be repeated at the bakeries in India. Once we are open and the kinks have been worked out, the next step is bringing the first girls here to the US and giving them an apprenticeship here at the bakery, then returning with them to set up their own!
“The goal- start a bakery, teach the girls how to make bread, and give them the opportunity to be empowered and have ownership over their future in a culture that radically undervalues them. I am grateful to my heavenly father for changing my heart. For creating this love and for modeling it perfectly on the cross. Above all else, I adore his name. I would die for these girls, and will gladly spend the rest of my life, however long or short it is, keeping that promise.”
